Now that we are back in our homes, let's try to avoid the Post-Convention Syndrome mentioned in the closing joint session. We mustn't let family, things, and work/study/life make us quickly forget what we learned and what we've committed or recommitted to.
Keep praying, reading your Bible and missionary biographies -- share with someone of your commitment made for accountability, share with someone of the hope that is in you just as Betty Stam did to those who were decapitating her husband and her due to their faith.
I think each of us should strive to be a millionaire towards God. What do I mean? Well, here is the $3 version:
Three Dollars Worth of God
I would like to buy $3 worth of God, please.
Not enough to explode my soul or disturb my sleep,
but just enough to equal a cup of warm milk
or a snooze in the sunshine.
I don’t want enough of God to make me love a black man
or pick beets with a migrant.
I want ecstasy, not transformation.
I want warmth of the womb, not a new birth.
I want a pound of the Eternal in a paper sack.
I would like to buy $3 worth of God, please.
